My Take On This Room #1 - Glam Goodness

Happy Halloween!

While looking through the Delos Rug catalogue I came up on this picture and completely fell in love.
There is so much goodness, I don't even know where to start!

Velvet & lots of it
Luscious drapery
Big funky lamps
Cocktail table
Amazing colour
Textures
Sea Urchin ceiling fixture
Playful accessories
Simple & statement making rug

I like a rug to say something & have some balls.
I would rather a solid or texture fabric on furniture pieces, then have some fun with the floor, art, drapery & pillows.

Here is, My Take On This Room.

lamps
spike ball

See you tomorrow & try not to eat too much candy!

Holiday25 Sale

I am a big believer in getting my holiday shopping done before December 1st.
Frankly, who in their right mind wants to be at the mall with the rest of the world frantically purchasing mass produced gifts & spending way too much!

So, to ease your holiday shopping for a loved one, or maybe something for yourself, I have decided to put my shop on sale until Novemeber 30th.

You can enjoy 25% off on a purchase of $50 or more.
How awesome is that!
Everyone appreciates a thoughtful gift & one that is unique, handmade & you don't have to leave the house.

Here are some of the treasures that I'm sure anyone would love to receive.

I hope you stop by the shop and buy up some of these goodies!

Tuesdays New Found Fabulousness...That I Need in My Life

I have made a few amazing discoveries that I would love to add to my home.
I had to share them with you & it got me thinking about a new series

I have long lusted over this Worlds Away cocktail table for my living room forever.
The marble & minimal gold leaf leg is simple perfection in my eyes.

However, this Caracole discovery has me torn.

I would also be willing to give left arm up for a pair of these babies, to perch on either side of the fireplace.

While on the business of pairs, 2 of these would be very statement making in a foyer or upper hall.

Unfortunately, we have no wall space for them.
They are big for my very narrow foyer, but they will remain in my back pocket for a rainy day!

We have been lightly considering a new living room light fixture. The trick it's got to be BIG, we currently have one but it's too petite for the size of the room & the 18'ft high ceiling.

I'm contemplating these amazingly large but very different lights.
My favourite is this one available from Black Rooster.

There is also this classic Jonathan Adler number.
I'm loving the combination of white, chrome & the grey linen shades.

Well, that's all she wrote for today.
I have more newfound fabulousness to share with you next Tuesday.

Juggling & some pretty stuff

Good Monday.

I have nothing planned for today. To be honest I'm feeling a little zonked.
I've sprinkled some pretty images throughout this post in hopes of not boring you.

I always have a few things on my plate, currently I've got:

An Etsy shop
This blog
My own design business (that is essentially part time)
I spend 1 day a week at my old design firm
A set of almost 5 year old twins

So, I thought that I'd like to do something else that really involved being around other people, because most of my work is spend by myself.

I got a part time job, in a home decor retail store. It's a busy place. Designers love it for accessories, but we also do in home consultations, custom furniture, you name it!

It's been a bit of an adjustment. I have been my own boss for years so, someone telling me what to do is the hardest part. I do enjoy the fact that I can go do my job & leave - there's no homework.

via

Working Saturdays doesn't bother me - it gives the Mr. some well deserved fun time with the kids.

What really kills, is the arranging who's picking up from school, who's taking the kids to their karate & dance classes - and the constant in & out of the car seats from one vehicle to another.
Thanks goodness for Mom's - mine & my Mr.'s

I'm also missing the multiple yoga classes a weeks, it's been 2 weeks since my last class & the 2 weeks before that were scarce - Christine said "This job is interferring with our yoga" & it's true.

via

Not to mention that my house inside & out looks like a tornado hit it & that the laundry pile is getting bigger by the second.

I dont know how parents of young kids work full time, juggle the kids, school, home, home work, groceries, cooking, packing lunches & make time for yourselves. It's tough.

via

So high 5's to all of you who do it & do it well!
I might need to read a page out of your book.
