Exposure

Hi!
Remember a few weeks ago when I IG'd this pic of some fabric painting that I was doing for my friend Christine. Well I can finally tell you that it was for her master bedroom makeover, which she reveal last Friday. Here are a few images of the completed drapery. You can also see Christine's master make over here.

I am so happy with how the plain IKEA panels were transformed. I painted & had the tabs removed, created a proper hem & header, adding a lovely white lining to the back & created a simple ripple fold pleat.

In other new's I met with the super sweet & lovely Nina from Black Rooster & I am beyond honoured that she feels that my hand painted pillows are worthy of her amazing shop. I had 10 designs to choose from & she selected 4 to be sold in both the store & online.  I've got a few great seasonal items up my sleeve that will be exclusive to Black Rooster, but you'll have to wait!

On a side note I need this black pleated lounge chair. It is so amazing in person & beyond comfortable. It's definitely going on the list of new pieces I must have when we move.

Have a great Tuesday.

#projectmapleavenue The Library & Family Room

Welcome to another Thursday.

I thought I would share the design direction of the library & family room at #projectmapleavenue

First up is the Library

The beautiful antique desk is going to remain, however we will be replacing the chair with one that's going glossy black & upholstered in a zebra fabric. I'm torn with keeping everything in this room all black & white or is one hit of colour just over the desk. Thoughts? There also needs to be some type cart / hidden something for the printer to go to the left of the desk.

This back wall is getting hacked - an IKEA Billy bookcase hack more specifically-
In the end it should look something like this. We've toyed around with the idea of wallpapering the back of the book shelves, in a soft black & grey hand painted looking floral with a white background?

The french doors are also going glossy black for some added drama. In front of the window we are placing an antique chairs lounge that is being covered in a black faux snakeskin- I can't wait it see how it turns out. The window are going to have the same sheer treatment as the living room but we will be adding white stationary drapery with black ribbon banding down the lead edge.

The family room received a pair of newly upholstered chairs - I love them big time! A lovely linen with a sliver thread.

This fabric is for pillows.

The faux croc is for a pair of cube ottomans.
This is just one small area of the room we are still awaiting the 2 custom sofas that are being upholstered in a lovely shade of chocolate - yummy:)

Art work & area rugs, still need consideration but hopefully we'll make some headway on that front soon. We have a July 16th deadline - aaahhhh!

DVF for Kravet

I was so excited when I heard that Diane Von Furstenberg was launching a fabric collection with Kravet.
I her effortless style, energy & her unabashed use of colour.
I had high expectations & this textile collection did not disappoint, I was blown away. The colours, textures & patterns are so up my alley.
Anyone out there want a design scheme based on these fabrics as inspiration?

Come feast your eyes.

All of the fabrics are so gorgeous & luxurious. The black & white herringbone velvet is truly to die for - I must have it - maybe on a pair of Milo Baughman chairs - which I am also wanting in a bad way!

I have a big meeting today - I'll fill you in tomorrow.

#projectmapleavenue Continues with the Wine Cellar & Living Room & My Weekend ReCap

Welcome to another week. The past weekend just zipped by!
We spent Friday evening with my cousins at a nearby resto to have a few drinks & dins. With this group you are guaranteed to have great time. Saturday we went to the kids school fair. Both kiddos were up bright & early in anticipation of the fun day ahead. I too was up early to make this cake. The donated cakes are given away as prizes - to the kids!

This Father's Day the Mr. was met with his favourite breakfast & then we headed out for some go karting, now known as the Father's Day 500 - it will become tradition! We also hosted a BBQ for family & friends.

#projectmapleavenue is coming along nicely. The living room got some very simple window treatments. We wanted to allow for privacy, light & very budget friendly. Sorry for the lousy pic!

These 2nd hand lamps are going to be sprayed black & the shades are going black too.
The wooden coffee table is just temporary, while we await the custom made large square tufted ottoman.

We settled on this striped velvet for the cushions that are going on the wing chairs.

We are also making headway in the wine cellar. This is the view you see upon entering the wine cellar. All of the stone used in this room was left over from the exterior. The wood work is going to be stained in a mid tone brown, that is pulled out of the reclaimed wood doors.

This wallcovering is going on the 2 walls opposite the feature wall & all of the trim & doors are going to be painted in the same dark grey that is on the back wall of the wine shelves.

That's all she wrote.

See you tomorrow.

#projectstonebrook Update & Lots Of Painting

As promised I will be sharing some project updates with you. Today is #projectstonebrook.

Here Goes
It took a bit longer to sell their current home, so this project was on hold, but now we're full steam ahead with #projectstonebrook. The entire condo has been painted Benjamin Moore Grey Mist & it looks amazing.
The original daybed with trundle for the guest bedroom had been discontinued with no stock available since making the original plan. We were very disappointed but, this Restoration Hardware number certainly made up for it! It will be upholstered in belgian linen in a foggy grey colour. Truth be told I love this one so much more!

We were met with the same disappointment with the Master Bedroom bed but found this even better one from Bernhardt.

Here is the design board for the living room.

We ended up with this beauty from Weavers Art for the area rug & all of the cushions are underway!

The last few days I have done a lot of painting for some custom orders & my feet
are showing the effects!

Here's a peek - the first 2 are for Christine but I will let her share with you exactly what they are for.

& this one is for #projectmapleavenue. I will be sharing more of this project Monday, so stay tuned.

Have a wonderful weekend!

M.I.A. & Balloon Fun

Morning Loves, I've missed you & I am so sorry for my absence.
Truth be told I have been busy, in an awesome way but at the end of the day something had to give & this was it. However I have been working on some great stuff & I will be only to please to share with you tomorrow.

Until then here's a bit of balloon fun.
I love the idea of gigantic balloon bundles, they give you the feeling that you may just float away!

I kind of want that second image badly.
